One of my friends was telling me the other day about how much he loves the website Footnote.com. One of the ways he is using it is for looking up information on his Revolutionary War ancestors. Not only is he finding out their military information but also finding them mentioned in the pension files of their friends and neighbors. What a great resource! Without that search function and those digitized records, who would have the time to search through the pension files of others, hoping to find a mention of your ancestor.
Checkout Footnote. It is steadily becoming a very important genealogical tool.
