Women's History Month 2016: Tip #9 Newspapers

What can I say about newspapers? They are probably one of my favorite sources. Why? Because they tell the story of everyone. Rich or poor, you can end up as fodder for a newspaper.

Newspapers are important sources for researching women's lives. Women's names can be found in articles documenting life events like birth, marriage, and death. Women can be featured in articles chronicling  milestone events like 50th wedding anniversaries. Their names might be in legal notices for probate actions or divorces. Heck, women may even be in the newspaper for not picking up their letters at the post office.
