Talking Genealogy in February 2020

Can you believe that it is already 02/02/2020?! This new year seems to be speeding by at a brisk pace.

Certainly you've heard about my genealogy cruises. We sail in 203 days from Seattle to Alaska where we will take in the sights and learn about our favorite topic, genealogy.

Right now is the time to book this adventure because Princess has a sale that includes free gratuities, WiFi, and beverages.

Who will be there? Daniel Horowitz of MyHeritage, David Allen Lambert, Tami Mize of Conference Keeper, Cyndi Ingle of Cyndi's List and I will be providing the presentations and genealogical advice.

It's going to be a great time! Contact  our travel agent Terri O'Connell about registering for this or our cruises to Mexico or New England in 2021. Let me know if you'd like to be a member of our Facebook group.

My latest publication for Internet Genealogy is on newsstands now. Tips and Tricks for Online Genealogy Research includes ideas for searching various websites including the FamilySearch Catalog, Ancestry, RootsWebWiki, Chronicling America, GenealogyBank, American Ancestors, DPLA, Fold3, Google Books, PERSI, MyHeritage and more. If you don't find it at your local bookstore you can order it from Family Roots Publishing or Internet Genealogy.

Where will I be presenting this month? I'm sticking pretty close to home this month but you can catch me at the following society meetings and events:

February 3, 2020. Corona Genealogical Society
Topic: WPA

February 11, 2020. Colony Cousins
Topic: Finding Images To Tell The Story Of Your Ancestors

February 15, 2020. Corona Family History Seminar
Topics: Social History through the Ages: Sources for Social History from the Colonial Period to World War II; Finding Images to Tell the Story of Your Ancestor; 5 Steps to Better Newspaper Research

Looking ahead, next month is Women's History Month which means I'll have a month-long series that will include history and research tips. Her Voice, Her Vote will focus on the 19th Amendment, voting, citizenship and all the records that come from those activities. Check back on March 1st for 31 days of resources.

Have a great month!
